Ok... this is the good part where you can get something for nothing.

When I started to research my own family tree, I began by collecting and copying as much information as I could from as many sources as possible (particularly indexes) and pasting it into a spreadsheet in an orderly fashion. This turned out to be a pretty good technique. The ability to search and sort through all the information made it quite easy to identify relationships between individuals that weren't otherwise apparent.

At the end of the process, what had also emerged was a reasonably comprehensive list of Butterfields who had lived in NSW during the first half of it's brief history.

Rather than stick all this information in a cupboard somewhere, I decided to make it available for anyone that may find it useful.

Opposite is a copy of the masterfile that can be downloaded as a MS Excel 2000 spreadsheet ...absolutely free of charge!

I hope you find it useful :o)
